Churches To Reopen for Prayer

On Friday it was announced that from the 15th of June, Churches will be able to reopen for individuals to undertake acts of prayer.  For many faiths the closure of places of worship has been a difficult time. I'm glad that they will now be able to start the reopening process.  

Food Standards Upheld

With the UK leaving the EU at the end of the year, there has been much discussion over the future of food standards.   Locally this is an important issue for the many farmers and food producers in the area.  I'm glad to see that the commitment to ongoing high food standards has been underlined.

NHS Test and Trace Launched

Today sees the start of the NHS Test and Trace system which will launch the next stage of tackling the Coronavirus.  It will allow for those who have received a positive Coronavirus test the ability to provide the names of people they have been in contact with prior to their symptoms showing.

Backing local pubs

Pubs are at the heart of our community, and many Publicans are planning for the future once restrictions are lifted.  One such example is The Inn at the Bush in Kirkbride, who have submitted plans for a play area in a little used area of car parking.

Update on Coronavirus Testing and Rollout of Antibody Testing

Next week, the Government will begin offering antibody tests to health and care staff, eligible patients and care residents in England to see if they have had coronavirus, representing further progress in our national testing programme.
